Key Features

We are conscious of changing user requirements and the need for long term sustainability in our products. The ability to adjust, replace and reuse, along with clinical features, has been at the core of the ProForm Contour design.

The ProForm Contour comes as standard with:

A choice of 2 adjustable and interchangeable postural support back cushions
A choice of 4 removable and interchangeable pressure management seat cushions
Height, depth, and angle adjustable headrest
Seat depth and width adjustment
Arm height adjustment
Height and angle adjustable footplate

The ProForm Contour benefits from a number of easily adjustable settings and cushion options to enable it to be configured correctly by the care team for different, and changing, user clinical and comfort needs.

Mechanisms

The ProForm Contour comes in either an electric or manual model. The features are the same for both models except that the electric model comes with a handset that will operate the main movements of the chair which are the Independent Tilt in Space, Backrest Recline and Leg Rest adjustments. All other adjustments/movements are operated manually on both models.

Both models come with:

Independently operated Tilt in Space (manual or electric operation)
Independently operated Backrest Recline (manual or electric operation)
Independently operated Leg Rest (manual or electric operation)

Tool-Free Adjustments

The ProForm Contour features an adjustable head rest, seat depth, seat width, arm height and footplate as standard. All of these adjustments can be made by the care staff completely tool-free*.

With these measurements able to be changed within seconds, the ProForm Contour can be altered for the next client easily and quickly, making it convenient for care environments.

*Adjustments made to the headrest will require the use of an Allen key, which is provided upon purchase of the chair.

Pressure Management Back Cushions

There is a choice of two interchangeable and adjustable pressure management back cushions that enable the chair to be adapted to a single user’s changing needs or to adapt the chair to another user. This ensures greater longevity of its usage.

In addition, all cushions can be repositioned to suit a user’s individual seating preferences. Covers can also be removed for cleaning.

Pressure Management Seat Cushions

There is a choice of four interchangeable seat cushions each with different pressure management features. You can purchase one or more cushions to support the different needs of individuals who may use this chair.

Cushions and covers are removable for cleaning and replacement.

Wing Handles And Back Handles

The ProForm Contour is designed to be extremely easy to push and manoeuvre. Whilst the ProForm Contour comes with ergonomic back handles to guide the chair whilst the client is in an upright position, it also comes with additional easy-to-grip wing handles, providing a sturdy and comfortable hold, with the handles shaped and positioned to suit carers of different heights. These handles allow the chair to be easily moved and positioned even when an individual is in a fully reclined position

Four Heavy Duty Large Lockable Castors - Including One Directional Castor

The ProForm Contour comes with four heavy-duty lockable castors designed to easily glide over low profile carpets, wooden and vinyl flooring. This includes one directional castor, which when activated allows for more controlled movement.

Padded Seat Chaise Overlay

The ProForm Contour benefits from a single, full cover over the whole of the seat. This chaise overlay, which is attached to the seat cushion, reduces the risk of pressure areas developing due to pinch points and shear and friction when the chair reclines. The chaise overlay/seat cover can be removed for cleaning and replacement.

Foam Pad Headrest

The ProForm Contour comes as standard with a foam pad headrest to ensure the head is supported while still offering comfort.

The Tilt in Space (TIS) electric mechanism with slight knee break function and further back recline allows for full loading of the body over a large surface area. This reduces the pressure and is a comfortable position for those who must sit for long periods of time. The TIS mechanism is ideal for those who need or would benefit from having their legs elevated.
Adjustable or removable lumbar cushion to provide postural support for the Gluteal shelf.
The TIS and back recline allows for effective repositioning through 45 degrees with the benefit of increased blood flow and pressure reduction.
Six high-quality pressure care seat cushion options. There is also a 1" memory foam or egg crate topper pad in place.
Several back cushions options including standard Waterfall back, lateral support and seat depth adjusters. Zips in the back cushions allow for fine-tuning of the soft but supportive fibre to achieve good immersion.
Seat depth adjuster pads ensures that the chair provides the best positional support and therefore pressure risk reduction possible.
Built-in 3" leg rest extension which will normally allow for the users heels to hang over the end and have no contact/pressure on them. However, it is important to check the user has good contact/pressure redistribution along the full length of the calves to avoid any pressure issues with the Achilles.
Vertical lift option for easy wheelchair transfer.

Cleaning instructions

Please wipe down with cold water to clean.

The fabric is designed to kill bacteria on contact and water is all that is needed.

WS Medical Seating Warranty Information

WS Medical provides the following warranties, compliant with the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993:

Mechanisms and Frame: 2-year warranty
Upholstery: 2-year warranty
Pressure Care Seat Cushions: 1-year warranty

We will repair or replace, at our discretion and at no cost to the original purchaser, any parts covered by this warranty that are found to be defective due to faulty materials or workmanship. This warranty covers parts and labour only provided the claim is made under the terms of this warranty.

Warranty Exclusions
The following are excluded from warranty coverage:

Damage to fabric caused by misuse, negligence, abuse, accidents, or improper cleaning.
Unauthorised or incorrect repairs, alterations, or modifications.
Damage to the chair resulting from misuse, negligence, abuse, accidents, or normal wear and tear.
Damage caused by mishandling or abuse by third-party carriers.
Any special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Battery replacement due to complete discharge from improper use or lack of maintenance.

Statutory Rights
This warranty does not limit or exclude your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Return to Base Warranty
This warranty is a return-to-base warranty. The product must be returned to WS Medical’s designated service location at Hillside Road, Auckland, for any repair or replacement claims.
